Distribution List:
If you need to send an email to a larger amount of recipients within the allotted period you will need to use a distribution list.
Distribution lists have a limit of 100,000 members and can send 10,000 emails within a 24 hour period. But they have a 25MB size limit.
Details:
To enhance security and manage email traffic, sending limits are in place to help prevent spam and ensure the reliability of our email system. Compromised accounts are often exploited by attackers to send large volumes of phishing, fraudulent, and malicious emails to NDUS faculty, staff, and students. By limiting the number of emails an account can send, we drastically reduce the risk of these advanced attacks. Sending limits not only lower the number of people affected but also make remediation of phishing attempts faster and more effective. This approach follows Microsoft’s best practices for email cybersecurity.
